Nora Aunor
Ms. Nora Aunor is the undisputed
"golden-voiced" superstar in the Philippine recording industry. A
multi-awarded movie actress and recording artist whose records have been
consistently in the top charts for over two (2) decades now, Ms. Aunor's
popularity has extended and remained very strong among Filipinos in the U.S.

- In 1991, she was named one of the Best Performers of Dekada '80 by Gaward
URIAN and one of the Best Actresses of the Decade (1984-94) by Star Awards for
Movies in 1995.
- Her musical-variety show, Superstar, was aired for 22 years, the
Philippine television's longest running weekly show ever.
- In 1991, her first major live concert, "Handog Ni Guy, Live"
broke the box-office receipts records of Araneta Coliseum, the biggest audience
in its history.
- In 1991, she was named as one of "The Most Significant Filipino in
the 20th Century" by ABS-CBN's Tatak Pilipino
- In 1997, she was cited as one of the "Best Actresses in the
World" as reported by ABS-CBN's weekly show, City Line.
- In 1997, she was selected by HBO, a USA-based network firm, to represent
the Philippines in a documentary film about the lives and achievements of the
world's actresses.
- In 1997, her movie, "The Flor Contemplacion Story", had the
singular distinction of being the first local movie to be carried in a laser
disc format through Miramax, an outfit of Walt Disney Corporation in the USA.
- In 1997, she received an invitation personally from Robert Malengreau,
representative of Brussels International Film Festival in Belgium to be one of
the judges in the said festival this coming November 1997. This will be her
second time to sit as a Jury in an international film festival. The first ever
by a Filipino actress.
- In the January 27, 1997 issue of the news magazine, "ISYU", she
was named as one of "The Most Admired Filipinos" for the last four
decades.
